Fashion Month has two sets of viewers: those on the hunt for the season’s hottest fashion trends to shop and those who look to the runways to see the upcoming beauty looks we’ll be sporting throughout the year. So, in case you’re considering a hair transformation, allow the hair looks from the spring/summer ’25 fashion shows to offer a new approach to luxury beauty.
Perfectly undone styles and inventive updos punctuated this year’s runways. If you’re looking for new ways to upgrade your updo, LaQuan Smith added a contemporary twist to the classic 1950s French roll. Or, maybe you want to channel an effortlessly chic vibe? The free-flowing waves at Collina Strada are easy to achieve with the right tools. No matter your aesthetic, the hottest spring/summer hair trends prove that styling your hair should be anything but boring. Below, see some of our favorite looks from the runway.
Distressed Hair
What if we told you this season’s hack to a chic look is simply skipping wash day? The recent indie sleaze trend has been at the forefront of fashion and is going strong in the beauty world. According to the spring/summer ’25 runways, the key to looking put together is to look like you don’t care too much at all. Grace Ling, Tibi, and Wiederhoeft were just a few of the designers who leaned into the unkempt, distressed, almost dirty-looking hair. At Wiederhoeft, Oribe’s principal artist, Kien Hoang, used Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Cream and Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray to create the messy look without compromising on shine.
Sculptural Sleek
No matter the season, you can never go wrong with an updo. This season, designers urge you to elevate your look by adding a sculptural element. You can go a bit more avant-garde, like Evanie Frausto’s artistic take on a classic bun at Luar. You can also try a French roll to recreate the slick updos at LaQuan Smith, created by celebrity hairstylist Larissa Ingrid.
Unusual Embellishments
If this season’s hair looks prove one thing, it’s that the more playful the style, the better. Last year, we saw hair embellishments in the form of golden flecks and ribbons. This time around, designers are incorporating diamond and pearl-encrusted barrettes, metallic floral pins, and hair clips that cascade down the length of your hair.
Bangs Bangs Bangs
Sabrina Carpenter would be happy to know that a perfectly quaffed bang is one of the season’s hottest hair trends. From thick bangs paired with bob haircuts at Christian Cowen to the side-swept wispy bangs at Sergio Hudson and Tibi, there’s no coincidence that bangs are having a moment.
Rapunzel Waves
The theme of Collina Strada’s spring/summer collection was “Touch Grass,” so it was no surprise that the models’ hair nearly touched the ground. The show aimed to embody ease and find peace amidst chaos, and the long, wavy hairstyles added a breezy elegance to the story. Models at Di Pesta also sported long beachy waves, in line with the show’s celebration of the beauty and power of womanhood. The flowy style exuded a graceful sophistication and effortless charm, a recurring theme on the 2025 spring/summer runways.
