On Friday, Amal Clooney shone brightly in a daffodil yellow minidress as she arrived in Venice with husband George Clooney. The dress featured a tiered skirt with pleats that swung around her as she walked, and a high neckline with no sleeves.

The couple were in the Italian city for the 2024 Venice Film Festival, and the human rights attorney accessorized for the warm weather. She wore a wide-brimmed straw hat, oversized sunglasses, and a pair of nude espadrilles. Over one arm, Amal carried a Chloé handbag with gold hardware and in her ears wore gold hoop earrings.

The Oceans Eleven actor was wearing a navy polo and off-white pants and held tightly to his wife’s hand as they walked. His film Wolfs is set to premiere at the festival on Sunday. In a recent interview with GQ, George talked a bit about how he has come back to acting rather than directing in other people’s projects again as his children have grown. He and Amal share twins, Ella and Alexander, born in 2017.

“The main reason is that it is a year on the road to direct, and now my kids are of a certain age,” he explained. “We’re not going to uproot our kids out of school and run around. Before that, they could just come with us and we would all go. But that’s different now. So now I’m going to just probably focus on other things, like acting.”

He also shared a bit about aging in relation to his career.

“When I turned 60, my wife and I had a nice dinner,” George shared. “We were talking and I said, ‘Look, I’m 60…So here’s the thing, I can still play basketball with the boys. I can still hang, do a lot of shit. Physically, I’m in pretty good shape still.’ I said, ‘But it doesn’t matter how many granola bars I eat. In 20 years, I’m 80. And that’s a different number.’ That’s a real number where your bones are brittle and your muscle mass is gone. So sh-t changes. So these next 20 years we have to really focus not just on work, although you’ve got to continue to work. We also have to focus on life.”
