On Friday, Jennifer Lopez shared a stunning selfie in her Instagram Stories, her first post since it was revealed that she had filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck. Page Six identified the shot as likely coming from a December 2020 makeup and hair session with famous stylist Chris Appleton.

In the photo, J.Lo’s makeup is flawless and she has a gorgeous honey blonde blowout styled in huge curls. The star is wearing a pale pink tracksuit in a soft fuzzy material and a lit up Christmas tree is visible in the background.

The Story is a repost from what appears to be a fan account that tagged Lopez. In the post Appleton originally shared on December 31, 2020, the stylist wrote, “Deluxe Glam Barbie- Ending the year with a bang ✨”

News of the divorce filing broke on Tuesday and neither she nor Affleck have spoken publicly about the dissolution of their marriage.

Although Lopez has returned to social media since her divorce filing on Tuesday, she has not publicly commented on the dissolution of her marriage. A source speaking with People suggested that Lopez was the person to file because she was supposedly “done waiting.”

They added, “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

A second insider agreed that Lopez is ready to “move on” from Affleck, saying, “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage.”

A Page Six source said Lopez tried to save the marriage, but Affleck did not reciprocate.

“[Lopez] truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale,” said the insider. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale.”

The source added, “Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His actress ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it.”
