The WNBA has quickly become the most stylish league in sports thanks to players like Cameron Brink. Last month, the star forward stepped out in Balmain at the 2024 WNBA draft in Brooklyn. Now, she is the face of a new SKIMS campaign. “I have always loved the brand,” Brink tells ELLE.com.

SKIMS, co-founded by Kim Kardashian in 2019, announced a multiyear partnership with the WNBA back last year, becoming the league’s official underwear partner. “Our brand DNA is rooted in inclusivity, representation, and women’s empowerment, which are values shared by the WNBA,” Kardashian said in a statement.

The campaign featuring Brink spotlights the SKIMS Fits Everybody Collection, and features other basketball legends like Candace Parker, Dijonai Carrington, Kelsey Plum, and Skylar Diggins-Smith.

“When they reached out for this opportunity, I was super excited to be included in this group of strong women that represent the game so well on and off the court,” Brink says. Below, she talks the future of WNBA fashion, her style-icon Zendaya, and why SKIMS makes the best game-day underwear.

Your favorite SKIMS product… Go!

It’s hard to pick just one. Cheeky brief if I had to pick one though.

What makes SKIMS good underwear to wear during a game?

The cheeky brief is also my go-to to wear during games. It provides excellent seamless coverage. It’s so comfortable that you forget you have anything on.

How would you describe your personal style off of the court?

I would describe my off-court fashion to be similar to my personality. Some days I feel ultra-feminine and want to wear a dress. I love wearing dresses and heels. I also find that makeup is a creative and meditative outlet for me, so some days I will take the time to apply a full face of makeup. Then there are other days when I lean into my athletic side and go with zero makeup and just baggy sweats and sneakers.

Do you have a fashion icon?

I love Zendaya’s style. She is so confident and pushes the limits and also just looks amazing in a plain tee and jeans.

Why is the relationship between fashion and sports so important?

Basketball and sports are at the center of popular culture, so it’s a fun intersection when you can combine the two. I love being able to go all out between the lines, and then afterward get ready for a nice dinner with an outfit that makes me feel confident and comfortable. I love makeup and taking the time to style my hair in something other than braids.

WNBA style is so good right now. Everyone’s draft-night outfits were amazing.

The W is the most fashionable league in sports. I have loved to watch how the veterans have expressed their style in a variety of ways. The range of expressions is a beautiful way for young people to find something they connect with. The style varies from ultra-feminine to masculine, and I love that young people can see themselves in someone represented in the W—because we have it all. We show that everyone doesn’t have to fit in the same traditional box to have style. The W allows for freedom of expression when it comes to style, and what’s going on in society. The W is at the forefront of a lot of social issues. I love that I feel confident and supported expressing my style and views off the court.

What’s next when it comes to fashion and the WNBA?

I see the future of fashion at the W to be a place where the athletes continue to feel empowered to express themselves. Hopefully companies will realize how powerful it can be for them to partner with us and ride the shift that is coming. I love that SKIMS has realized our power and has partnered with the W. Everyone watches women’s sports.
