Jennifer Lopez revealed her first look as co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala at the annual pre-dinner in New York City last night. The singer arrived in a black column gown with a corset top by Diana Qerimi, adorned with gems. Lopez accessorized with Yeprem jewelry (including a pair of diamond drop earrings), a Tyler Ellis bag, and Casadei shoes. For glam, she wore her hair in a ponytail and kept her makeup more subdued.
Lopez will be among the first to arrive at tonight’s Met Gala, where she’ll showcase her sartorial interpretation of the night’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashon” exhibition and its “The Garden of Time” dress code.
Lopez is pulling double duty today though, as she is also on a press tour for her upcoming Netflix film, Atlas. She stepped out in a monochromatic red ensemble this morning for an appearance on Good Morning America.
She teased during the show that she’ll “barely” be able to walk in her actual Met Gala outfit. “The Met Gala looks are not about comfort,” she said.
She declined to give any more details on what she’ll be wearing, saying, “You’ll have to tune in to see. But it’s exciting, it’s exciting. It’s a fun night for fashion.”
“It’s always a nice time there,” she added of her own experience in past years at the coveted fashion event. “It’s such an interesting mix of artists and business people. It’s not just music or film, it’s everybody—fashion, film, music, business—and you get to have some really interesting interactions.”
