Riverdale star Charles Melton has shared certain aspects of his love life publicly, including when he was dating his co-star Camila Mendes. On the show, Mendes played Veronica Lodge and Melton played Reggie Mantle, a relatively minor figure in the original story who became more central in a lot of scenes with Mendes.
Since their break up, he’s had a few other romances, most recently with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Chloe Bennet. Bennet is also known for her role on Hulu series Interior Chinatown, her voice work as Yi in DreamWorks’ Abominable and the Invisible City, and as Robyn on Dave.

In the fall of 2018, Mendes shared a photo on Instagram of Melton giving her a smooch on the forehead. She captioned the image, “Mine.”
December 2019
In December 2019, a source told E! News that they were “taking a break.”
“Cami and Charles have been separated for a few months now. They are taking a break from their relationship,” said the insider. “Their relationship escalated very quickly, and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves.”
They added, “They both have movie projects separately, and it’s been a lot on both their plates. Nothing in particular happened, they just both felt busy and overwhelmed and it was a lot of pressure on them.”
July 2021
Reconciliation rumors circulated in July 2021 when they were seen at San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood.
July 2022
One year later, Melton went Instagram official in a now-deleted post with new girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders after they worked on the film Wake together. It was rumored they’d been dating since March. He even attended the premiere for her movie Bodies Bodies Bodies. But by December of that year, Wonders was dating comedian Pete Davidson.
May 2023
Melton was seen with new love interest Chloe Bennet in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, May 9. A source told People at the time that “they’ve been quietly dating for a few months.”
In photos, Melton has his arm wrapped around Bennet as they walk down the street. He’s wearing jeans, a white shirt with long sleeves, and sunglasses. Bennet was similarly casual in black with sunglasses and her hair pulled back.
August 2023
The couple was seen attending Taylor Swift’s Eras tour together in Los Angeles on August 9.
