This week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, an event created by the Duke of Sussex. The games are a sporting event honoring wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, including those who are currently serving and veterans.
On Saturday, Meghan was tasked with presenting a gold medal to Danielle Pothoof at the Swimming Medals Ceremony. For the event, she wore a silk trench coat in light cream by Cuyana. The coat’s tail swirled around her, matching the high-waisted Cuyana pants cinched close to her torso with a fabric belt. Under the coat, she had on a white t-shirt and accessorized with nude pumps from Aquazurra.
Harry wore gray linen slacks, a white button-down with the sleeves rolled up, and brown suede shoes.
On Saturday evening, they dressed up for the Invictus Games closing ceremony at Merkur Spiel-Arena. Harry wore a black suit with a black button-down and black dress shoes.
Meghan was clad in a peacock green Raylene dress from Cult Gaia covered in a subtle floral pattern and she wore her nude pumps again. She had some extra glitter with a Cartier bracelet and a diamond pinky ring from Lorraine Schwartz. They were joined backstage by Eurovision star Sam Ryder and pop singer Rita Ora, who each performed for the event.
During his opening speech for the games, Harry referenced his wife and her recent genealogy test that seemed to confirm she had ancestors from Nigeria.
“Now, I’m not saying we play favorites in our home, but since my wife discovered she’s of Nigerian descent, it’s likely to get a little bit more competitive this year,” he joked.
This year, competitors from Colombia, Israel, and Nigeria joined the games for the first time.
