Hailey Bieber wore a striking white Saint Laurent column dress to LACMA’s tenth annual Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, creating a silhouette reminiscent of a Grecian statue. The gown was lightly tailored to the 24-year-old model’s dimensions, and featured a deep V neckline with padded shoulders and sleeves that ruched at her elbows, making the straight lines of the skirt an even stronger contrast.
The gown’s hem brushed the floor, but as Bieber walked she revealed her black platform heels with an open toe.
To accentuate the dramatic simplicity of her clothing, Bieber accessorized with gold bangles at her wrists and a pair of small gold earrings that ended at her jawline. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun and for make up she wore white shimmering eyeshadow and a dark plum lipstick.
The LACMA Art+Film Gala was returning that evening after taking a COVID gap year. The event honored director Steven Spielberg and artists Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley, who famously painted Michelle and Barack Obama for the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Museum.
Bieber was unaccompanied by her husband, Justin Bieber, at the Gala, but the two recently appeared on the podcast In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith, where they discussed working through their marital issues. Though they didn’t marry until 2018, the pair had dated as teenagers. After their break up, they spent some time apart, which Hailey said was good for them both. But since their marriage, they’ve realized how much healing and work they needed to do together as well.
“Neither of us were going to be the person to say, ‘I quit,’” she said. “Neither of us were going to be the one to walk away from the situation. Because we were just both like, ‘Hey, we chose fight for this, so we’re gonna keep fighting past whatever we need to.’”
