It goes without saying that 2024 was a banner year for Demi Moore. After her mesmerizing role in the horror film The Substance, all eyes have been on the 62-year-old actress. That was also true on the red carpet at the Golden Globes tonight, where Moore opted for classic beauty to complement her custom gold Armani Privé dress. She wound up taking home the statue for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, marking her first-ever Golden Globe.
There’s no better choice than a dramatic smoky eye to mark the historic occasion. Moore’s version featured sparkly gold on the lid to help draw all of the attention to her eyes. To achieve the look, makeup artist Rokael Lizama blended Diorshow 5 Couleurs in #559 Poncho and Diorshow 5 Couleurs in #539 Grand Bal, and topped everything off with a coat of black Diorshow mascara.
To make Moore’s eyes the true star of the show, Lizama kept the rest of her makeup light and fresh. On Moore’s cheeks, Lizama used Rouge Dior Blush Colour & Glow in #257 Dioriviera for a rosy glow. For the perfect pinky nude lips, Lizama used Rouge Dior Contour in #259 Nude Ribbon to add dimension and Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in #061 Poppy Coral for a hint of dewy shine.
Moore’s side-swept hair channeled classic red carpet glamour, and Dimitris Giannetos, Moroccanoil global ambassador, says that was by design. “I wanted to keep her hair classic Old Hollywood but at the same time more ethereal and effortless,” he says. Giannetos used Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray and Moroccanoil Everlasting Curl Titanium Curling Iron to achieve flawless, cascading curls, and Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray Strong to lock it all in place.
For ELLE’s Women in Hollywood issue, Moore spoke about the awards show buzz she’s garnered this season. “It’s a very new experience,” she said. “Up until now, I’ve never really been brought into that conversation. So I’m feeling a lot of appreciation, and at the same time keeping myself right-sized, because in truth I didn’t know if this film would work at all. It was conceptually so crazy that I really didn’t know. So I’m in this beautiful place of having let go of any expectations, and so everything that’s been happening just feels like this added gift.”
