Taylor Swift did not make an appearance at Travis Kelce’s away game against the Raiders in Las Vegas on Sunday. The singer had her third and final show in New Orleans at Caesars Superdome the same night. Her next stop is in Indianapolis on November 1, so it’s possible she’ll find time to visit her boyfriend in between tour locations.
On Saturday night, Swift made a reference to the NFL star while onstage during her second show in the Louisiana city. During the outro of her song “Midnight Rain” she gestured as though she was throwing a football into the audience as a tribute to Kelce, who was unable to attend her most recent concerts. Swift made the motion while singing the lyrics, “He never thinks of me, except when I’m on TV.”
A source speaking with Page Six this week said that is unlikely Swift will make many appearances at away games this season. She has been at Kansas City Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium because the staff is familiar with her security protocol.
“She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance,” said the source.
The insider also shared that Kelce offers Swift “a tremendous sense of peace” in their relationship.
“Just his physical presence,” they explained. “She feels safer with him than anyone she’s ever known; she knows he would do anything for her and physically she feels protected by him, and she loves that feeling. It’s a relatively new one for her, relationship-wise.”
They added, “Travis is her protector in every sense of the word. He is going to make sure she is physically safe, and emotionally safe—he is not going to do anything careless or reckless with her.”
This leg of Swift’s Eras Tour ends in early December, which means she’ll likely have more time for Kelce, wherever may be.
