Taylor Swift attended Travis Kelce’s first two games of the season, then skipped his two most recent matches against the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Chargers, both of which were away games.
Some people wondered if the couple’s relationship status had changed given Swift’s two-week absence. But there has been no breakup, multiple sources familiar with Swift and Kelce told TMZ: They “remain a couple,” the sources said. The idea of there being trouble between them is “simply not the case here.”
TMZ pointed out that while Swift is currently on a break from her Eras Tour, she’ll resume performing on October 18 in Miami and that she might have already begun rehearsals.
The outlet’s report came shortly after a source also debunked breakup chatter via Daily Mail. That source claimed, “People need to chill and drop this breakup nonsense, just like they should stop the endless speculation about marriage and engagement. One day it’s this rumor, the next it’s that, and they’re not even close to either.”
In early August, Kelce’s rep shut down reports of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposing soon. The spokesperson denied that there are “any official engagement plans” in place.
Swift and Kelce have been together for a little over a year. The singer last attended a game on September 15 at Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce’s next game against the New Orleans Saints on Monday, October 7, will also be there.
It is worth noting that to go to Kelce’s games, Swift requires extra security—and that could influence which ones she chooses to attend. Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt spoke to SiriusXM in February about what goes into keeping her safe.
“Obviously, anywhere she goes is a security issue,” Hunt said. “It’s something that we’ve helped her security team handle when she comes to games in Kansas City, and I know the visiting teams that we’ve played this year where she’s shown up have had to do the same thing. She has a really talented security team. They liaison with our security team, and we make sure we get her into and out of the stadium safely.”
