The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White and Molly Gordon’s on-screen chemistry appears to have translated into some offscreen sparks, too. The co-stars were photographed kissing in Los Angeles on Sept. 25, 2024. TMZ described them as “making out” and noted that White opened a car door for Gordon. The new relationship comes after White was romantically linked to Rosalía earlier this year.
Here, a breakdown of White and Gordon’s history as friends, co-stars, and now seemingly more.
February to April 2023
Gordon joined season two of The Bear as Claire, the childhood sweetheart of White’s character, Carmy. Prior to the show, she was good friends with Ayo Edebiri, whom she met in 2019.
Production on the series went from February 21 to April 28 and brought White and Gordon together as co-workers. Vogue revealed in July 2023 that the first time Gordon met White was when they filmed their first scene together.
Gordon spoke to Glamour in July 2023 about meeting with White: “Our first day of shooting together was the refrigerator scene. The first time I met him, I felt that excitement of meeting an actor that you admire, but I also felt like I had known him for so long. He’s such a generous, available person, whereas you have to pull so many other actors out of their shells. He was like, ‘I’m in this with you.’ I immediately felt like there was something really good there, and I felt safe in that dynamic. I guess Chris [Storer, The Bear’s creator] knew.”

White offered his own praise of Gordon to Variety. He told the outlet of her character, Claire, “I also think Molly [Gordon] does such an amazing job. She’s so disarming and funny and charming. I think it didn’t allow Carmy to build up his his regular walls. She knocked them down with ease and allowed Carmy to feel cared for, which must have just been so welcomed because I don’t know the last time Carmy would have allowed himself to be cared for.”

Gordon spoke to Shondaland about getting her role on The Bear…and offered gushing praise of White and his acting ability.
Touching on how she was cast, she shared: “So, I worked with Chris [Storer, The Bear’s creator] on Ramy five years ago and had this very special experience. I was only on the job for two days, but I always say it’s one of my favorite jobs. And Chris said to me, ‘We’re going to work together again, Molly. Just you wait.’ And people always say that, but they never actually follow through. And I’d been craving something like this as an actor for a really long time. I never thought that I would get to be included in something like The Bear and to work opposite Jeremy [Allen White], who I think is one of the best actors of our generation. That they would allow this loser to join him and everyone else who is so brilliant on that show … literally, I would’ve played a dishrag. So, the fact that they allowed me to look at Jeremy is … I’m forever grateful.”
She reportedly laughed when the interviewer mentioned she got to make out with him.
She told Glamour a similar story that same month about getting cast. Again, she expressed how happy she was getting to act with White. “I didn’t know anything about the role when I signed on,” she said. “Once they sent me the scripts and I started reading, I couldn’t believe they would put me in the same room as Jeremy Allen White. My slob self? How dare they? I was very nervous because he is such a brilliant actor, and I wanted to live up to his talent. But I trusted that Chris knew we would have a nice flow.”

Gordon spoke glowingly about White to ELLE. “It still feels so pinch-me that I’m even on the show at all,” she shared. “To even have played a dishrag would have been crazy, so to play opposite Jeremy was amazing. He is such a good actor. It’s my favorite job I’ve ever had.”
She also praised his literal body of work in that viral Calvin Klein ad, saying, “I mean, I went to a yoga class several weeks ago and I’m still tired from that. I think what he was able to pull off is incredible. He should be celebrated for that.”

Gordon praised White’s acting again to ELLE UK when discussing the season two finale: “On that show, I just want to match the level of acting that is happening,” she said. “Jeremy sets such a high bar. I have to make sure the moment lands in the most honest way it can.”
July 2024
Gordon spoke to L’Officiel USA about filming more emotional scenes with White, touching on their work relationship. “Chris [Storer] creates such a free space to be a real human being and connect with each other,” she said. “Unfortunately, the thing that is hardest sometimes is to be a real person on camera, because there’s all this other shit going on. The director can sometimes create a space where you can’t just drop into the reality of connecting with someone. Chris just knows how to bring together people crew-wise that want to live in that space, and also actor-wise. His direction is just how to be the most real as possible, and Jeremy [Allen White] is such a beautiful person to share the screen with. He’s so curious and loving and kind.”

The two co-stars were photographed making out in Los Angeles on September 22, signaling that a romance also brewed offscreen. The sighting confirmed that White’s previous relationship with Rosalía ended; they were last spotted together in July.
