In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a tribe of female warriors known for their combat skills. These women have inspired art, literature, and now, Dior. During Dior’s spring/summer 2025 show, SAGG Napoli, a competitive archer and multidisciplinary artist, shot arrows at a target while models in sport-inspired clothing encircled her. The Amazons also inspired Peter Philips, the creative and image director for Christian Dior makeup.

“It’s about strong women,” he told ELLE.com, describing the beauty look he created this season. “Legends.” He channeled that concept both literally and metaphorically, giving models natural-looking skin; grungy, worn-in eye makeup; and flushed cheeks. “Like you’ve been running and were doing a workout,” Philips said.

Philips used Dior Forever Skin Glow and Dior Forever Skin Contour Stick to even out the skin. Instead of using highlighter, Philips opted to pat Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum into the models’ skin just before they hit the runway to give them a “wet” appearance (like one might look after battle or a gym session). The looks were finished with clear, glossy lips using Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil.

Blush placement was key to making the models look like they’d just been sweating. “I did a workout blush,” Philips said. “It’s not on the apples of the cheek, because that’s a more romantic blush. [This placement is] more like a flush than a blush.” It was Philips’ take on boyfriend blush, a trend that took over TikTok this summer, where blush is placed beneath the cheekbones to emulate the flush men get after exercising. Philips swept Dior’s Rouge Blush Colour & Glow under the models’ cheekbones to create this effect.

For the eyes, Philips went with a smoked-out, imperfect swipe of eyeliner on the lower lashline using the Diorshow On Stage Crayon. “I wanted to avoid a clean line,” he said. Philips filled in and brushed up the eyebrows using the Diorshow Brow Styler and the Diorshow On Set Brow. If you’ve never worn makeup to work out, Philips makes a strong case for it with this “aprés sport” look.
