Meghan Markle began her and Prince Harry’s four-day tour of Colombia today, dressed sharply in a navy Veronica Beard vest and trouser set. The Duchess of Sussex had her hair styled in a bun as she greeted Colombia’s Vice President Francia Márquez at Márquez’s residence in Bogotá this morning.
Márquez welcomed Harry and Meghan with coffee, tea, and traditional pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread) at 9 A.M. local time. This marked the first stop of the couple’s official four-day visit. They will continue their day with a visit to school, where they will join students for an Insight Session. Later, they will join Márquez for a summit with thought leaders on how to create a safer digital landscape for all.
Márquez told the couple this morning that she believes they “share the same ideals and goals when it comes to championing a better, safer digital future and mental health landscape for children and the world,” per Harper’s Bazaar.
On Friday, Meghan and Harry will remain in Bogotá. They will meet young students and attend an engagement with the country’s Invictus Games team. Details on the couple’s weekend schedule have not been shared yet.
This is Meghan and Harry’s second official country visit this year. Although the couple stepped back from their working royal family roles in 2020, they are now doing state visits through their Archewell Foundation.
Meghan and Harry did a three-day visit to Nigeria in May. On their first day there, they met students and spoke about mental health awareness.
