After spending last weekend with Taylor Swift in Amsterdam, Travis Kelce is back in the U.S. for his final week before the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp starts. He’s already made a grand gesture though, dedicating an award he won last night at the American Century Championship to his girlfriend. Swift, in turn, gave Kelce a rare show of support on Instagram for a different career feat.
Kelce won a karaoke contest at the charity golf tournament Thursday for his performance of Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again.” In his acceptance speech, he told the crowd, “Taylor, this is for you.” His victory and Swift shout-out has been widely covered.
Swift, of course, was far from the Lake Tahoe, Nevada, event. She will be performing in Milan tomorrow and Sunday. Kelce was on her mind though; Page Six reports that this afternoon she liked a post on Chiefs fan account @chiefs.talk about how Kelce was ranked the top tight end in the NFL, according to an ESPN poll of coaches, scouts, and executives. Yes, about a year into dating Kelce, Swift is spending her free time looking at Kansas City Chiefs fan accounts.
A source told People earlier this month that Kelce tries to make Swift feel special even when they are continents apart. “Football is definitely still his priority, but so is his relationship,” the source explained. “He makes romantic gestures to show he’s thinking of her when they’re apart. She’s going to try to attend as many games as possible.”
Swift will continue playing shows in Europe through August 20. She then will have a break until October 18, when she’ll start another U.S. leg. Kelce’s training camp starts July 21 and runs through August 15.
