Kourtney Kardashian Barker and I have been trying to lock down a time to connect for days. The multi-hyphenate’s chaotic schedule has been even busier lately, given the birth of her fourth baby, a new season of The Kardashians, and the explosion of Lemme, her science-backed vitamin and supplement line.

When we do connect on Zoom, she lights up the screen with a broad smile. A hairstylist is focused on executing her edgy lob and, the icing on the cake, Khloé Kardashian unexpectedly joins the interview—cracking jokes, and even helping trim her sister’s hair. “I just wanna be a part of Lemme Smooth,” she says with a shimmy, adding, “if it weren’t for me, this would be a very smoo0oth interview,” Khloé says a double entendre revealing the reason we are all chatting.

“Hiii!” they both energetically greet me.

“We’re filming our show. ELLE, you’re gonna be on Keeping Up—,” Kardashian Barker pauses and self-corrects: “Oh, it’s not Keeping Up anymore. The Kardashians.”

Instantly I regret not putting on the Kylie Cosmetics foundation from my makeup collection that I keep at my desk (it photographs phenomenally). She playfully adds, “Well, [only] if you want to sign a release!”

Kardashian Barker and I are here to discuss Lemme Smooth, the latest capsule launch from her viral wellness venture, which also offers products to help support beauty and wellness goals, ranging from de-bloating and de-stressing gummies to capsules that help with vaginal odor by providing pH balance probiotics. The idea for Lemme Smooth came about when she was pregnant with Rocky, her first child with husband Travis Barker, last year. “If you told me three years ago that I was going to launch this, I never would have believed you. When I did IVF, I started to develop cellulite in areas that I had never seen before,” she says.

“Where?” I ask.

“My arms, on my stomach, on my legs,” Kardashian Barker, 45, says. I had always gotten it on my thighs, and I [thought] it was going away right after.” But this time, it did not, leading her to investigate what was good at combatting cellulite. “Research is showing us that factors like hormonal changes, aging, metabolic imbalance, PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome], and even glucose spikes are linked to the development of cellulite,” Leona West-Fox, functional nutritionist and Lemme Medical Advisor said via a press release.

The Lemme Smooth formula boasts clinically studied ingredients shown to visibly reduce cellulite in just 28 days, including French Cantaloupe Melon extract and chromium picolinate, which helps minimize cellulite and promotes a healthy metabolism. Other ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, bamboo silica, and bromelain, leave your skin plump and hydrated.

Kardashian Barker even let the women in her “mom friends” group chat test the new supplements just in time for summer. “They specifically asked you not to call it that,” Khloé interjects. “I know,” says Kardashian Barker, adding, “but they are my mom friends.” Motherhood takes a village—even if you are a Kardashian. Below, Kardashian Barker opens up about having a baby later in life and adjusting to the new dynamic. Plus, how she takes care of her post-baby body, and why she’s not using her platform to promote perfectionism.

How is Kourtney Kardashian Barker doing?

I feel amazing. I’m just soaking and breathing in every second.

How has your life changed with four children? Someone once told me that you don’t feel a difference after three.

You feel a difference. [Having] one is the biggest life change. It’s like we started all over again, because it’s a whole new experience. It’s really been such a blessing to our family.

How has your post-pregnancy body changed for you with Rocky? Is there anything different?

I’m almost 10 years older. This time, I prioritize being with my baby. We go on probably two walks a day. I don’t technically work out. I’ve probably done Pilates three times when my husband [Travis Barker] is with the baby. It’s not my priority like in the past. I [focus on] eating good, healthy fats and foods [that] make me feel good. I’m by no means on a diet. I just had a croissant and scrambled eggs for lunch with butter and jelly. Being healthy and feeling good is the priority. I eat clean. My croissant was organic. Khloé’s shaking her head.

Society is obsessed with smoothness—whether it’s your legs or your pores. What is it like to deal with cellulite as a public figure?

It’s nice to show the flaws, you know—just to be realistic about it. When developing the product, that was my only hesitation. I don’t want to contribute to perfectionism. We’re all trying to do our best to feel good and be the best versions of ourselves.

Recently, I saw a meme that shares a study about how women who have kids over 40 tend to live longer…

I saw that! I also saw this lady that was 142 the other day on the internet. I think it was real. I’m gonna live to 140 [everyone laughs]. She was like a healer with herbs.

How do you navigate negative comments online?

I really don’t read comments these days. The ones I do see or that I do read—they don’t get to me. I’m pretty good at keeping that comment wall up. I go on two walks a day, get fresh air, [and] try to limit phone use—it’s hard—especially when that’s how we communicate with each other.
