Then, just a couple of days later, Eilish officially sounded the alarm for new music. Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, comes out this spring. Per usual, it is co-written and produced by her big brother and music partner, Finneas.

Ahead, everything to know about Eilish’s upcoming new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The new album drops on May 17, 2024.

On April 8, Eilish started off the day by teasing something new with an ominous Instagram Reel of her sinking underwater before a hand reaches out and grabs her wrist, pulling her up.

“READY?” she captioned the post.

Later that same day, she officially revealed her upcoming record with an Instagram photo of her falling through an open door underwater, which is the album’s cover.

In her album announcement, Eilish clarified to her fans that she won’t be dropping any singles from Hit Me Hard and Soft, instead choosing to release all of the songs at once.

“Not doing singles i wanna give it to you all at once,” she explained.

Hit Me Hard and Soft will have a different sound than her previous albums.

On Nov. 13, 2023, Variety reporter Katcy Stephan shared a quote from Eilish’s Power of Women interview that “didn’t have space in the cover” story.

“It does feel different than the other stuff, but not in a weird, foreign way,” Eilish said of Hit Me Hard and Soft before it was announced. “It just feels new. It just feels like change. Change is one of my favorite things in life.”
