Robbie spoke to British Vogue for its August issue about her life now and her decision to of slow down a bit. “I don’t know if it’s because I’m in my thirties now, or because life took… a very strange turn,” she said of mulling the lifestyle change. “Over COVID, I was home for longer than I’ve ever stayed anywhere. I’ve been moving at a million miles an hour for as long as I can remember.”
“It can feel a little scary sometimes,” she said of what it’s been like stopping. “But now I finally feel like it’s okay to… sit still? Or even sit this one out. That’s a feeling I haven’t had before.”
She also mused on where she’d like to go in her career next—and her ambitions to do some work behind the camera. “I want to direct,” she said. “I’d like to try writing. Those would be huge challenges, which to be honest, I might not pull off. I also think directing is a privilege and not a right. But I have a story that’s been in my head for years. And I need to put pen to paper and see if it looks ridiculous or not.”
