Dutch minimalism is coming to the masses. Zara is throwing its hat into the high-low designer collaboration ring with a KASSL Editions capsule. For the uninitiated, KASSL Editions was formed in 2018 with the goal of creating one perfect item: a fisherman’s coat. With that quest, the German label ushered in a refreshing code of dress that is rooted foremost in durability and quality. Its streamlined design approach and knack for proportion has garnered a cult following among industry insiders who regularly snatch up its pillow bags and trench coats in droves. Now, the brand is offering its point of view to an even larger audience by collaborating with Zara on a ready-to-wear and home collection, marking one of the first-ever designer collaborations Zara has done to date.

KASSL x Zara radiates a minimalist sensibility. Postmodern uniform dressing takes on new life with loose separates done in cotton blends and leathers, nylon coats in muted neutrals with snap closures, and pillowy nylon boots. The standout piece from the capsule is without a doubt the coated linen cocoon coat in burgundy and navy, complete with a nappa leather trim, which can be worn inside-out for a deconstructed look. The simple gesture of a sharp heat-sealed seam on the lapel and the generously sized cuffs nod to KASSL’s keen eye for perfection.

KASSL also takes its worldview and ethos into its collaboration with Zara Home, with sleek individual cabinets in an array of colors, all of which can be arranged in any number of combinations for endless redesign opportunities. Minimal abstract art is found on notebooks and plush rugs, and the quilted sofa’s tactility speaks to the need for good quality materials above all else.
